It’s time for July Instagrams! The month has flown by. I can’t believe we’re in August! We got air conditioning in July, which has certainly made me happy. Also, Josh finished up working at his place of employment for over two years. In a little over a week he will be starting a new job and by the end of this month, I’ll officially begin my career of homeschooling my boys! So many adventures behind us and so many yet to come.
Sophia continues to entertain us by drawing on her tongue and enjoying books. She was obsessed with the picture to the left in a book from the library. And I’ve enjoyed “fixing” her hair, as you can see in the right-hand image above.
I made a trip to Mount Joy, PA to pick up our pastured poultry. The boys enjoyed a little science lesson.
Ever-creative, the boys discover how to make swinging even more of a adrenaline rush!
Scoping out a woodland scene for the maternity session.
A change was needed so a new hair cut for me! And cute new pants for Sophia’s birthday made by Kelly.
Little girl is in LOVE with her baby doll.
And her brothers are in love with her.
Josh and I got away to Lititz, PA in honor of our anniversary. Some scenes from our trip, left to right: Lunch at The Hidden Bean on the way up, drinks Sunday morning at Cafe Chocolate, latte at Tomato Pie Cafe, Wildflower surprise on our actual anniversary.
My own version of Tomato Pie below. Oh yum!
My dear friend Jessica stopped by on her trip to Texas. She showed us how to make Vietnamese spring rolls. We always have food adventures
with Jessica!
And we finished off with cupcakes from Flavor! A sweet way to end the month!
What was your favorite memory from the month of July?
jamie
what a great full month you had!! I would love your tomato pie recipe some time!
Briana
Hard to pick a favorite…we enjoyed a trip to Indiana, PA, one of my favorite places on earth. I was blessed to reunite with 6 of my college buds for a long weekend in Deep Creek. And we also celebrated my hubby’s 40th..a rather big deal for us all.
amy
gorgeous as always. your pie looks magazine-worthy. and I want to know how to make spring rolls! ๐
oops, just a quick note – looks like Sophia’s chest clip is a bit too low in the carseat shot. it should be at armpit level. super common mistake.
I love your instagrams – what a fun way to sum up the month. do you use a phone camera? I don’t generally want or need an iPhone, and we really don’t want to pay for a data plan, but I have my moments of lusting after the iPhone just for the camera. I have a pocket-sized camera but it sure would be nice if it was just built into my phone so I *always* had it with me and had one less thing to carry in my pocket/purse. that, and I wish you lived close enough to give me some photography lessons! ๐
favorite July memory…hmm. might be my mom playing lightsabers with Elijah. pretty stinking funny, especially with her sound effects ๐
Ashleigh
Love all the photos!! Looks like you had a great July. If you have time, can you share with us how to make Vietnamese spring rolls? I’d love to learn. I recently made gyoza for the first time at home and now I’m hooked on making them!
Ashleigh
BTW, love your new haircut!
Danielle
@Amy
No worries, Sophia’s chest clip is usually higher. Not sure why it was low that day!
Yes, I use my iphone camera for instagrams. Love it. We use Sprint so when iPhones came to Sprint we actually needed new phones. We weren’t going to shell it out for when they were only through AT&T. Josh actually HAD to have a data plan for his old job, so it just was slightly more for me to have one too. I have to agree my favorite thing is the camera. ๐
That’s so funny about lightsabers! Too bad you don’t have that on video!! I want to get lightsabers for the boys . . .
amy
the best part is I *DO* have it on video, Danielle!! and you totally don’t even have to have real lightsabers…at our house everything is a lightsaber. Storm Troopers get banished out of our yard with a stick, and vanquished from the living room with a playsilk. the duel with Grammy featured a bubble wand and a frisbee ๐
Danielle
@Ashleigh and Amy: I’ll put a post up soon about the spring rolls. They were very easy, although you might need an Asian grocery store or a Wegman’s nearby to find all the ingredients.
Amy, that’s great! Our boys are actually not too aware yet of the whole Star Wars thing as of yet. I never even saw them until I was married! My family was just never into Science Fiction, but I really enjoyed the original movies!
