I’m joining up with The Habit of Being for her Weekending link up . . .
This weekend started on Friday because Josh was off.
I spent Friday going through all the clothes in the house, switching out the summer clothes for the winter. I was able to do this in relative peace, thankfully, because Josh took the kiddos to the local nature center and estuary. I was reminded again how thankful I am for everyone who passes down their kids’ clothes to mine. I discovered two winter coats–one a Nike and the other Land’s End–in the attic that I’d forgotten about but had been saving for the boys for probably over a year now. What a blessing, and I’d completely forgotten!
I also got to go and dig through books at the library book sale, something I always look forward to! And look at all the great books I discovered for a mere $6!
We watched the first episode of this. Anyone a fan? Not sure if I am yet or not . . .
Saturday morning was spent running errands. Josh helped his grandparents with some work they needed done and then I did some baking: granola and these muffins made for the week ahead.
Some work on paying bills and budgeting, and then our weekly pizza night.
Today has been gorgeous! Sunny and delightfully warm. Church in the morning and a surprise meeting up with an old friend. Then a picnic lunch at church before spending the rest of the day at Hampton National Historic Site. What a gorgeous place rich with history. Not to mention I found a new location for photo shoots! I’ll have a follow-up post about our visit soon.
Tonight it’s Psycho and knitting. I love Hitchcock and was inspired to watch Psycho again after seeing the preview for this upcoming movie. Doesn’t it look good?
How was your weekend?
Danielle
Oh Ashleigh, if you love Hitchcock then you HAVE to watch “Psycho.” That movie is so fascinating from so many standpoints, and such cultural impact! As a film person, you’ll enjoy it no doubt. But it’s still pretty freaky, even by today’s standards I think. He’s so good in drawing out almost unbearable suspense!

I’m a huge Hitchcock fan. Looks like a really interesting movie about him and the making of “Psycho” (which is one of his films I haven’t seen).

I was very lucky to get hand me downs for my daughter for years. We are slowly making the clothing switch but it’s been hard because one days it will be 46 degrees and the next 78 degrees! Gotta love New England!

Ted and I have watched the entire “Foyle’s War” series and loved it! I really think you will, too, after you get to know the characters.

I just recently did the going through fall/winter clothes thing too, trying to figure out what each one needs (the bank account squealing in pain). We love Hitchcock and last year re-watched all his films!

Probably not surprising to you, I’m NOT a Hitchcock fan not that I’m all that exposed. “The Birds” was enough to scare me away from anything else of his. sorry. We had a packed weekend as usual, but enjoyable.
Friday night family/pizza night-watched “Monsters v.Aliens”
Saturday-chores around house and food prep for me for meals on Sat and Sunday w/ others.
Sat night we enjoyed dinner at dear friends’ house.
Sunday-church and afternoon/dinner w/ LA’s family. ๐

Thanks for leaving me your site-link on my blog! Those books at the top are some of my favorites too. I love the Railway Children. Have you been to the Book Thing in Waverly? That’s where most of our personal library has been collected from. It’s funny that you mentioned Hampton National Historic Site, I was just planning to stop by there to see if their gift shop has tin whistles. Good talking to you today!

I love love hand me downs. For the first two years I almost never bought clothes for my daughter. I have two closets done and one more to go. I was away for the weekend and so work on it was delayed
